Computer programmers
are called programmers
for short. Broadly, there
are two types of computer
programmer careers:
1. Applications
programmers write
original or modify
existing programs
to perform speci􀂿 c
computer tasks.
2. System programmers
write original or
modify existing
programs to control
computers at the
system level, such
as those in the
operating systems
(e.g,. windows and
linux) that control
computer and attached
peripherals.
